As the year winds down we are celebrating authors who have December birthdays. Here are just some of the many authors who have birthdays this month. We’ve included two book recommendations as well just in time for the holidays!
Candace Bushnell (12/1)
Candace Bushnell is the bestselling author of Sex and the City which was turned into the hit HBO show of the same name. Bushnell created the character of Carrie Bradshaw in order not to tell her parents of her writing venture. In addition to her breakout bestseller, Bushnell has written several fiction novels such as One Fifth Avenue.

George Saunders (12/2)
George Saunders is most famous for his book, Lincoln in the Bardo. Saunders writes everything from short stories to essays focusing on life in parrallel timelines. He is heavily inspired by the works of Kurt Vonnegut. You can see some of his writings in the New Yorker.

Ann Patchett (12/2)
Ann Patchett has written nine novels, four nonfiction pieces and is the owner of Parnassus Books in Nashville. While at Sarah Lawrence, Patchett appeared in The Paris Review making her first time as a published author. In 1992, she released her first book, The Patron Saint of Liars. Her audiobooks feature some of the best actors of our time including, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks.
