All this week, April 3rd through April 9th, libraries across the United States are celebrating National Library Week.  I like to think that libraries are special places, not just to me as a librarian, but to our entire community. This year the National Library Week’s theme is “Connect with Your Library”. The idea behind this, according to the American Library Association, is that this theme “promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using broadband, computers, and other resources. Libraries also offer opportunities to connect with media, programs, ideas, and classes – in addition to books. Most importantly libraries also connect communities to each other.”

What better way to celebrate National Library Week and connect with our library’s community than by sharing a library/book themed book list.
